Approx 5 year old QH Haflinger Cross Mare, 15 hands tall. Take a look at this unique Mare. Aretha is as safe as they come for her age, both on the trail and in the arena. She rides English and Western and will take a jump. She is as brave and honest as they come. She can do it all. She is a true pleasure to ride, be around and adventure with. She has an unbeatable brain and attitude with absolutely everything we have thrown her way. She is a once in a lifetime horse that will be successful in any situation or discipline.

Under Saddle, Aretha is truly well broke for her age with a great handle on her. She is talented and sporty. She has 3 smooth and balanced gaits, and will work on a looser rein all day. We have played around in the arena with her and started her over some jumps (fallen logs on the trail) and she really likes to try new things. She has more whoa than go. No hot or silly behavior. Never offered to buck, rear, bolt, kick or bite.
She will ride English, western and bareback.

On the Trail, Aretha is a superstar. We have trail ridden her extensively and is is phenomenal in every way. She will
ride out alone or with others, lead or follow. She is safe and easy going. Aretha is a breeze. She enjoys seeing new things and exploring with her rider. She loves water, and will cross any obstacle that you may come across on the trails. She will pop over logs on the trail as well and really enjoys it. She is sure footed and absolutely not spooky. She is safe on the road and around traffic, farm machinery doesn’t bother her either.

She is brave and simple, the type that is always willing and wants to help her rider. Even at her young age she shows so much promise, both with her ability and with her great brain that always aims to please.

In the barn, Aretha is great. You would never guess she’s a mare, you would never guess she’s that young either. She has great ground manners and has never been pushy with hs. She stands politely in cross ties to be groomed and tacked and loves attention. She is content living inside or out, and goes out in a mixed herd of mares and geldings. She has always been easy to catch for us. Aretha has always been a good girl for our vet and farrier. She is not marish. The only vice she has is that she will crib when she is stalled. It is controllable with a cribbing collar though.

It’s not every day we can offer such a truly special horse. Her video should speak for itself, tarps, smoke, flag, you name it and Aretha handles it like a pro. She will only continue to get better with age (if that’s even possible because she’s already amazing) You will have a hard time finding another horse that is as tolerant and good brained as this one. She is as close to fearless as they come, and is one of the best young horses you will come across. Take her in any direction and she will never disappoint you!
